What actually happens on your first visit
14 August 2026
The hardest part of joining a gym is the walk through the door. Most people who come to us on Wilbury Way have not trained for years, and a few have never set foot in a gym at all. So here is precisely what happens, with no surprises.
You will be met at reception, not handed a clipboard. We will ask what you would like to get out of it: more energy, less back pain, getting ready for a holiday, keeping up with the grandchildren. Then we will be honest about how long that usually takes.
Then we walk the floor together: cardio, resistance machines, free weights, kettlebells and the indoor sprint track. You get shown how to set up the two or three machines you will actually use on day one. Everything else can wait.
All Access members get an induction or a personal training session in their first month, so you leave with a simple plan rather than a vague intention. And if you would rather just look around and think about it, that is completely fine, because we do not do pressure.
